Owner & Co-founder

Julie Morrill lives in Virginia but travels the world to assist clients in emergency preparedness and personal safety. She conducts safety workshops for women and girls around the world. Her teaching is based in Krav Maga, an Israeli form of hand-to-hand combat and self-defense in which she has been training since 2004 and teaching since 2010. Her emergency preparedness consulting work has taken her to the Middle East, Central America, India, Nepal, and Haiti. She applies her worldwide travels and professional experience to her teaching of self-defense and trains her students in real-world scenarios.

Rebecca Epstein

Co-founder

Rebecca Epstein co-founded Train Your Roar and serves as Director of Communications. Her passion for physical challenges ranges from distance running to rowing to Olympic lifting and punching. She wants every woman to live feeling safe, free, and strong in her own skin.

Jennifer Finkle

Krav Maga Instructor

Jennifer Finkle started training at Krav Maga Boston in 2004 and began coaching in 2014, certified through Alpha Krav Maga International. Since then, she has been coaching at the Alpha studio in Malden, Brandeis University, and the Brookline Teen Center, as well as for Roar Training. At the end of 2017, Jennifer received her second degree black belt with Alpha Krav Maga International.

Besides Krav Maga, she trains locally in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at MauMau BJJ. She competed for the first time at the IBJJF Boston Summer Open.

Jennifer works as an RN in behavioral health, where she is now a certified instructor of CPI, a nonviolent system of crisis prevention.

When not kicking friends in the groin, she enjoys time with her dog and classic movies.

Jo Grassia

Safety Consultant

Jo Grassia is a risk management, security, and program management professional. He has partnered with organizations large and small to develop and manage programs in support of the safety and security of their team members and communities. Jo is a Military Police Officer, currently serving in the District of Columbia Army National Guard, as well as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. He lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife, daughter, and dog. Jo enjoys staying active through hiking, running, sailing, and basically anything that keeps him outdoors. He is dedicated to collaboration, the safety and development of others, and life-long learning.
